What are the Rules of Touch Rugby?
Passing only! No kicking. The ball is turned over if dropped. Its a tap restart for a penalty.
Play (re)starts in the centre with a tap. Defence retreats 10m at a re(start). A tap is when the foot touches the ball on the ground before picking up.
The player picking up the ball after a ‘roll ball’ may run but looses possession if touched! They must pass and cannot score.
One point is awarded for a try. There’s no kicking at goal. A touch still counts if a player dives to score.
The ball is passed flat or back. There’s a roll ball when touched. The defence retreats 5 metres.
The rule of 6! Its 6 aside with rolling subs. 6 chances to score and 6 touches to make in defence.
The pitch is 70m x 50m (half a rugby union pitch). A try is scored in the end zone.
